With the Wild men’s team having no game this weekend, the spotlight falls firmly upon the Widnes Wild women’s team who take on the Milton Keynes Falcons in the Women’s Premier League this Sunday 3rd December at Silver Blades Widnes.

The Falcons caused a stir at last season’s play offs back in June when, after finishing 3rd in the league table, they saw off league runners up Chelmsford Cobras in the semi final 6-1 before beating league champions Streatham Storm 3-1 in the final. They are currently third in the WPL table having won two and lost two of their 4 matches to date this season. Their two defeats came home and away against the Swindon Top Cats – who are unbeaten this season so far – and they have since beaten Bracknell Firebees and Kingston Diamonds, scoring 5 goals on each occasion.

The Wild women have yet to win a game this season – having lost their first two matches 3-5 to Nottingham Vipers and 0-3 to the Top Cats, both at home.

The game faces off at Silver Blades Widnes this Sunday at 5.30pm and admission is £1 per person.
